Christmas poetry can´t be imagined without a Christmas tree shining brightly. In Třešť there is also a nativity scene in addition to the tree. The construction of nativity scenes in Třešť has more than two hundred-year tradition.
At the beginning of the 19th century there were paper nativity scenes, and from the second half of the 19th century, mostly wooden fi gures. Local carvers carve wooden fi gures and animals to this day. Every year between 26th December and 2nd February it takes place The way of nativity scenes. It means, that visitors can visit more than twenty households who are happy to welcome them and show them their unique nativity scene right at home. Since 2008 the The way of nativity scenes is a bit longer and leads up to the Jindřišská Tower in Prague. At the end of 2015 The way of nativity scenes was registered at the List of Non- Material Goods of the Traditional and Folk Culture of the Czech Republic.
