Aleš South Bohemian Gallery in Hluboká nad Vltavou is holding an exhibition Tomáš Císařovský / Courage Every Day from 20th June to 4th October 2020.
Today, the artist Tomáš Císařovský is considered one of the most respected Czech painters and his works are exhibited in Czech and foreign galleries.

He was born in Prague in 1962. He graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in the late 1980’s and subsequently he began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of professors Arnošt Paderlík and Jiří Ptáček. He attracts the attention of the audience, especially with its non-traditional painting technique in the traditional and conservative art style that painting represents today. His works reflect traditional genres, such as a portrait, a figural composition or a landscape. Over the years, the themes of his work change and evolve, but the painter‘s handwriting remains the same. The characteristic features include, in particular, a solid and robust painting base with clearly defined contours and shapes. This is also related to the use of thick, dense and significantly colourful oil paints. It is therefore clear that Císařovský‘s paintings are not created randomly, but they are long-term and purposefully thought-out and built. Most often, his works are created in thematic cycles. Among the most famous belongs „From the Diary of a Grandfather Legionnaire“, which is based on the unfulfilled dream of his grandfather, who wanted to become a painter but instead fought in the war.
The exhibition of Tomáš Císařovský in The Aleš South Bohemian Gallery will present a selection of thirty years of the painting work. Visitors will be attracted not only by the painting technique itself with oil and acrylic paints, but also by the captured themes of events from recent history, which will surely make them aware of the fragility of interpersonal relationships and reflect on the meaning or nonsense of existence. The paintings will take you through Císařovský‘s life, you will visit places of Czech and exotic landscapes and you will get to know many exceptional and famous personalities. Connoisseurs and art lovers will also be interested in brilliant work with the colour and technique. Therefore, every visitor will find his own, beloved. The curator of the exhibition is Martin Dostál, who has been dedicated to the painter’s work for thirty years.
The Aleš South Bohemian Gallery is looking forward to your visit.
