Offer for the tourist season 2020. Dear visitors, we would like to introduce you our program of sightseeing tours in the chateau, which we have prepared for you. It contains three different circuits.
Circuit I – Porcelain presents a tour of the Museum of Porcelain, which is the main content of our program of presentation of extensive collections of porcelain of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. The collection of Czech porcelain in the 21 halls of the first floor of the chateau documents the more than 220years old history of porcelain production in Bohemia. The other 4 rooms will take you to the cradle of porcelain production in China and Japan. In the corridor you will get acquainted with European productions and the stories of the owners of these exhibits who became victims of the Holocaust. In addition to historical porcelain, you will also enjoy the current production of the porcelain factory in Klášterec and the Moser glassworks in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad).
Circuit II – Fairyland presents a tour of the Fairyland of Vítězslava Klimtová and an exhibition of marionettes by the Matěj Kopecký family. Part of the circuit is an ascent to the chateau tower, where is installed an exhibition of Mrs. Štefánková on the theme The legends of the Ore Mountains.
Circuit III – Attractivities takes visitors to the world of the Middle Ages. It represents life in a monastery, in a town, in a village and in a chateau. The chateau prison and the torture chamber expose the history of the judiciary and the capital punishment law of the town Klášterec nad Ohří. An interactive exposition full of fun and information is located in the cellar rooms of the south wing of the chateau.
We offer a tour in German and English, texts are available in Russian.
Our chateau is open all the year round! From April to September: Tuesday – Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. From October to March: Wednesday – Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm. Other days only for pre-ordered groups.
