As summer arrives, so is Loket transformed into a hub of entertainment. The castle opens its gates wide, coming alive with a host of events - theatre performances, night-time tours, workshops for children, and Castle Night.
It’s open all July and August daily until 6.30 pm. Come and marvel at the returning Loket Region collections, weapons from days gone by, porcelain, and our interactive exhibition of torture. Listen as the amphitheatre chimes with the sound of bands and musicians, and the cheers of the audience at a theatre production or stand-up show. One special evening on the calendar this year - “We All Love Ennio Morricone” - celebrates the famous pieces of music written by this remarkable artist. There’s also plenty of room for alternative art (music, slam poetry, acrobatics, exhibitions featuring a diverse range of works, author’s readings, etc.), all presented as part of LoketART. Indeed, art is part of the very fabric of the town all year round, whether in small museums and galleries or at Galerie na hradbách. Lovers of history and nature, meanwhile, come into their own with the popular Roaming the Loket Region, walking tours that show the town and its surroundings in an unconventional light.
On top of all that, there’s the 2025 Motocross World Championship, proving that the town of Loket is about more than just culture – it’s a town of sport too. So, whether they choose to hire a bicycle or boat or explore the many hiking trails we have here on foot, visitors can look forward to a wealth of natural beauty, accompanied by sites that simply ooze history or legend. Embark on a stroll to Krásno observation tower, or even a cruise to Svatoš Rocks, both great ideas for families with children (and everyone else, for that matter). And disc golf fans will love the brand-new course around the amphitheatre.
Summer months packed with a diverse range of experiences for children and adults alike - that’s the town of Loket!
