In the middle of last year Jindřichův Hradec Information Centre was opened in new premises. Compared to its previous home, the new premises are larger, more respectable and offer a wider range of services in many aspects. The reconstruction also included building barrier-free access enabling wheelchairbound people access to almost 50 m2 of the exposition area.
Town residents and tourists can newly use the Internet here, arrange accommodation or a guide, obtain information about buses and trains, buy various tickets and choose from a wide range of promotional materials. For example the presentation of the South Bohemia Region can be found on the South Bohemian Tourist Authority panel and another panel focuses on Czech Inspiration member towns.
During the reconstruction of the premises wall paintings were discovered on vaulting, and after a detailed examination by a restorer they were dated as mid 19th century. They are colourful decorations with fl oral motifs and a rosette placed in the centre of each vault bay.
