Velichovky Spa
The fi rst spa season took place here in 1898, but since then a lot has changed. Apart from the specialisation in locomotive organs they off er women specialised treatments and pampering. So if you wish to please a member of the fairer sex, you should choose one of the spa gift vouchers.
Dobrošov Observation Tower
The original tourist cottage with a 6 m bricked tower was opened to the public in 1895. The new, Jirásek’s Cottage, with a 24 m high tower was put into use in 1923. Apart from the beautiful view, you will also fi nd a pleasant restaurant with gourmet meals.
Chateau in Novém Městě nad Metují
The latest adaptations to the chateau and garden were performed by the architect D. Jurkovič for the past and current owners - Bartoň of Dobenín. The interiors are very interesting as is the park, guarded by unique Baroque gnomes by M. B. Braun.
Opočno Chateau
The fi rst written record of a castle situated here can be found in the Kosmas Chronicle and the record of the chateau dates back to the early 16th century. Today, the chateau exposition contains unique ethnological and weaponry collections.
Hronov – Do You Know?
Almost everyone knows Jirásek came from Hronov, but not everyone knows you can visit his place of birth there and hardly anyone knows about the Hronov sulphurous spring. Another place worth visiting is the All Saints’ Church with its beautiful belfry.
Kopeček Sheltered Workshops
At House No. 15 in Bartošovice, Orlické Mountains, you can admire workshops focusing on pottery, weaving and basketmaking, with demonstrations of wool processing, pottery production and wicker weaving. Or you can just buy a souvenir.
Masaryk’s Cottage on Šerlich
Situated on Šerlich ridge (1019 m above sea level), commanding a magnifi cent view of Bohemia as well as Poland. The open all-year cottage off ers accommodation and meals all day. You can set off for a short trip to the nature reserve “Bukačka Forrest“.
