The environs of Ústí nad Orlicí rank among the most interesting places of the region and have plenty to offer – active relaxation and leisure-time activities.
Visit the newly reconstructed indoor swimming pool, which off ers remarkable experiences – seawater, toboggan, whirlpools and a spinning centre. In summer you can enjoy yourselves in the Aquapark with a large toboggan or play minigolf in the close vicinity to the allsports grounds. Active tourists should head for Cakle, a campsite and dock, not far from the town centre. This crossroads of cycleways off ers various adventures for cyclists and in-line skaters. You can look forward to 40 km of good quality surfaced cycleways leading to Letohrad, Česká Třebová and Choceň. In the upcoming season tourists can make use of new accommodation facilities in the Sporthotel located near the sports grounds and the Aquapark.
Culture lovers should visit the Town Museum in Hernych Villa or the cultural centre – Little Stage, where interesting exhibitions, speeches and talks are held.
From the town you can set out for a pleasant trip by train to the castle ruins in Brandýs nad Orlicí or the monument of J. A. Komenský, who fi nished his satirical allegory “Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart” in Brandýs. You can visit the ruins of Lanšperk castle, about 5 km from Ústí, following the trail of Záviš of Falkenštejn.
