Open daily, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in winter time and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CEST. It is a true historical gem, as it is the oldest botanical garden in the Czech Republic, welcoming visitors from 1895.
After the architectural restoration of the external grounds and greenhouse complex, which took place in 1990-2000, it is also the most modern. It is a mere 2 ha, yet it contains the largest tropical collections in the country, including rarities of international flora, such as Saharan Cypress or Welwitschia Mirabilis from the Namib Desert, and also unique specimens, e.g. ancient camellia trees. The Garden boasts botanical discoveries published in professional literature and provides inspiration for landscaping. One can especially recommend the pavilions - "Primeval Plants" and "Carnivorous Plants", the daily exchanged orchid exposition, and outside the large rock garden or section of the wetland flora and water gardens. The Aquarium Pavilion dates back to as early as 1956 and the first seawater aquarium in the country was set up here. This long tradition continues and the Aquarium Pavilion attracts great attention.
