The city of Žamberk, a gate to the Eagle Mountains, invites you for a winter visit. We offer white track lovers machine-prepared cross-country tracks and alpine slopes, in the evening there are many leisure and relax possibilities. You can for instance take the opportunity to visit a stylish restaurant with a beer hall, bowling, discotheque or the Uhelna club.
You might object that it’s January now, there is snow outside and we speak about summer. Yet when summer asks what you were doing all winter, we can, with clear conscience, answer that we were preparing novelties for the summer season for you. For instance, an extended operation of the Tyrš Lookout Tower, more information can be found in our info centre, new souvenirs and another round of the Wood Festival that is traditionally arranged at Žamberk Castle in June. Just to surprise you - the main topic of the 7th edition will once again be wood, or more precisely wooden transportation means. You will be able to admire the craftsmanship of wheelers, cart wrights, sledge and carriage makers. We will also commemorate some important anniversaries, for example 310 years since the birth of Prokop Diviš, a Žamberk native, or – and this is also an important event - the 10th birthday of our regional information centre in Žamberk.
Come visit us, in our beautiful foothills nature, by car, train or bike. Cross country tracks will be replaced by a dense net of marked tourist tracks and one brand new cycle path.
